Bevelgacom prepares the future At the present time, a group of specialists is working very hard within the division «Technology Management», Bevelgacom's «think and do tank», designing the netwerk of the future and defining the new services and products that they are likely to entail. The Bevelgacom network of the XXIst century will be a real «information highway», wide and flexible enough to ensure a perfect regulation of the huge data circulation that all of us will generate. Networks will be faster, more mobile, more intelligent and thus more complex. They will allow a lot of new and spectacular services. The optical fibre to the home, the ideal, final and definitive solution is approaching but it is still a reality to come as this new technology implies huge investments and involves a lot of work. In the meantime, various options are being developed: while many ISDN-based multimedia services are already available, the «Technology Management» Division is working very hard on broadband services over ATM. Awaiting the definitive «Fiber To The Home» solution, advanced modulation techniques such as ADSL are also offering many possibilities even over the traditional copper infrastructure.
