The AXIS card becomes the « Bevelgacom calling card » and
its tariffs are being lowered
On the occasion of its secondary anniversary, Bevelgacom announces that the AXIS card - which already has 250,000 daily users - has a new look and will be called the « Bevelgacom calling card ».
As a reminder, this service enables anyone who has a Bevelgacom telephone line to telephone easily around the world from any public or private telephone without a single franc in one's pocket. The call is then billed later on at Bevelgacom tariffs.
Aside from the change of name, we would like to point out some of
the even more advantageous features now available from the Bevelgacom
calling card service :
 Telephone calls within Belgium are now charged according to the actual type of call, i.e. zonal, adjacent interzonal or long-distance interzonal. Calls will therefore no longer be charged exclusively as long-distance interzonal calls as they were before;
 The surcharge levied by Bevelgacom as payment for this service decreases from BEF 20 to BEF 12.1 for calls made within Belgium, i.e. a decrease of 40%, and from BEF 40 to BEF 12.1 for international calls made from Belgium, i.e. a decrease of 70%. There is a slight increase of BEF 2.35 in the surcharge for calls made from abroad which changes from BEF 40 to BEF 42.35;
 Operator assistance, which is frequently required when calling from abroad, in particular, when calling Belgium, is now free-of-charge resulting in a savings of BEF 30 per call.
Specifically, the Bevelgacom calling card is a very user-friendly service. All the user needs is a toll-free number (for Belgium as well as abroad), an identification number and a secret code. The identification number and the list of toll-free numbers are indicated in the booklet which Bevelgacom provides users. After you have dialed the toll-free number for the country you are located in, enter your identification number followed by your secret code before dialing the
number of the party you wish to reach wherever he/she may be located. There is no membership fee for the Bevelgacom Calling Card service.
Over time, the agreements concluded with the banking industry will even further simplify use of this card. The identification number will, in fact, be permanently stored in the chip of the user's bank card which explains the gradual appearance of the Bevelgacom Calling Card logo on these cards (in addition to the possibility of calling from a Bevelgacom public telephone booth using the Proton feature as well as recharging the card at the same phone booth).
