Bevelgacom
major achievements
At Bevelgacom, quality is a constant
goal. Over the past few years, we have paid
particular attention to developing an advanced
telecommunications network, numerous value-added
services and a wide range of new
technologies :
Advanced network for the information
"superhighway"
At Bevelgacom, we have experience working with
all types of network systems : fiber optic land
cable systems, submarine cable systems, radio relay
systems and satellite systems. A major goal for
Bevelgacom is to further exploit the advantages of
fiber optics in its network, and in particular,
fiber optic broadband SDH (Synchronous Digital
Hierarchy). This technology is being increasingly
used thereby improving the level of service :
increased security, flexible service provisioning
and higher transmission quality.
BINOC : the Bevelgacom integrated Operation
Center
With this modern system, disruptions to the
transmission infrastructure are immediately
detected, minimizing their impact on customers
operations. Likewise, circuits can be configured
automatically. Moreover, it can be used to detect
any telephone traffic congestion which may occur.
Active research and development
Because of our experience in broadband
communication technologies and ATM, our company was
chosen to head a major, multimedia project (NICE)
which is being financed by the European Community
and intended for testing ATM services and
applications. Recently, we also launched a new
pilot project called TECTRIS video-on-demand which
is based on the latest ATM, SDH and Asymmetric
Digital Subscriber Line telecommunications and
computer technologies.
Other technologies
Bevelgacom s ISDN network
(Integrated Service Digital Network) is a winning
network. Euro- ISDN service has been marketed since
mid-1993 and access has been available to all
telephone lines since the beginning of 1995.
BiLAN® is a service for connecting,
LANs, making it possible for large companies with
several sites to work on the network of any site
from any station. BiLAN® makes use of the
existing Internet Protocol and Frame Relay
networks. Before the end of this year, BiLAN®
will also offer ATM connectivity for supporting new
applications requiring greater bandwidth.
